| This course is designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge of Arabic grammar. Students will gain insights into the organizational structure of different words as they explore the science of Sarf. In this course the students will learn a brief introduction to Sarf, important terminologies, important definitions related to Sarf, different categories of verbs, particles, the detailed and abbreviated paradigms, the categories of triliteral verbs, past tense, present and future tense, emphasized negative – future tense, negative – past tense, emphasized positive – future tense, imperative command, negative command, active particle, passive particle, nouns of place and time, noun of instrument, the superlative noun, the intensive noun, the assimilated adjective, some paradigms of the assimilated adjective, patterns of the abstract triliteral verbs, patterns of the augmented triliteral verbs with or without the connecting hamzah, patterns of the abstract quadriliteral verbs, patterns of the augmented quadriliteral verbs with or without the connecting hamzah, types and patterns of coordinated to the augmented quadriliteral verbs, the abbreviated and detailed paradigms of abstract triliteral verbs of all six forms in detail. |
